Update Lafayette, LA – In regards to yesterday’s major vehicle crash. The victim has been identified as, Phillip Todd Migl 61, of Scott, LA. This fatal crash is still currently under investigation.

Vehicle Fatality in the 2300 Block of Eraste Landry Road
Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Police are on the scene of a major vehicle crash involving a single vehicle. The crash occurred around 2:46 p.m., in the 2300 block of Eraste Landry Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Eraste Landry Road from Westgate Road traveling towards Ambassador Caffery. The vehicle for unknown reasons left the roadway and veered to the left. Once the vehicle left the roadway it traveled through a fence and came to rest on the property belonging to Lafayette Salvage. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene and the release of his information is pending death notification.
The Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Division is currently on scene and the investigation is ongoing. We are asking motorists to avoid the area while our traffic investigators conduct their investigation.
