Acadiana Businessman Walter “NuNu” Broussard Dies

Walter “NuNu” Broussard, a well-known Acadiana businessman and the namesake behind NuNu’s Fresh Market, has passed away on March 22, 2026.

According to his obituary, Broussard and his late wife Jeanette opened the original NuNu’s store in Milton in 1976. The family-owned business grew over the years into a local staple, known across the region for its Cajun products and strong community ties.
