The United States Congress designates the National Day of Prayer. The prayer day is observed on the first Thursday in May and asks people “to turn to God in prayer and meditation.” The prayer theme for this year is “Pray Fervently in Righteousness,”
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. [National Day of Prayer]
