YOUNGSVILLE, La. — As Conference USA’s Beach Volleyball Championship brings elite collegiate beach volleyball to Youngsville this weekend, World Volleyball Day™ and Block the Bully are inviting the local community to join the excitement with a high-energy #WorldServeChallenge kickoff at Mandez’s Seafood Bar & Grill in Youngsville.

Event schedule: Thursday, April 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Friday, April 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mandez’s Seafood Bar & Grill, 1821 Chemin Metairie Road, Youngsville, LA 70592.

Designed as a countdown kickoff for World Volleyball Day on July 7, 2026, the event will give families, volleyball players, fans, and first-timers a chance to step up, serve to a target, win door prizes, and help spread the word about a larger mission: uniting volleyball fans around the world to stand against bullying.

World Volleyball Day and Block the Bully are working toward a global celebration on July 7, 2026, when volleyball communities worldwide will unite for a world-record attempt for the most people playing volleyball in a single day while raising awareness for Block the Bully, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to end bullying through volleyball, storytelling, and community programs.

“With Conference USA’s championship in town and beach volleyball energy already building across Youngsville, this is the perfect weekend to invite the local community to rally around something fun, meaningful, and bigger than one event,” said Steven Lockhardt, founder of World Volleyball Day and Block the Bully. “We want people to come out, serve, connect, and help us build momentum toward July 7, 2026.”

Mandez’s Seafood Bar & Grill is hosting the event in its parking lot, where manager Jeff and the Mandez’s team have stepped up to help create a welcoming community atmosphere. Southside Golf Carts is also supporting the activation by providing golf carts to help support the volleyball net setup. Door prizes and giveaways will be part of the experience throughout the weekend.

Anyone who would like to volunteer, donate, partner, or help spread the word can contact Steven at 832-533-7008.
