LAFAYETTE, LA (May 17, 2024, 8:07 p.m.) – Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) crews have reduced the number of storm-related outages from 4,500 to only 600, and will continue restoration efforts throughout the night.
LUS is urging the public remain at a safe distance from any LUS personnel working on the restoration to ensure a safe working environment. Additionally, while traveling, stay aware of potential road hazards such as downed power lines or fallen trees.
Please be advised that LUS is closely monitoring weather updates as additional severe weather is predicted for tonight.
