BROUSSARD, LA (Mar. 12, 2025) – Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition LLC received a permit from the City of Broussard to demolish the Celebrity Theater building, which closed in October 2023. Demolition is set to begin in a few weeks.
According to Steven Hebert, CEO of Billeaud Companies, the company owns both the building and the property. They considered repurposing the building and explored several prospects, but it became clear that it was impractical and costly.
Demolishing the building provides a fresh start for the property, rather than repurposing the existing structure. The eight acres can be divided in various ways to accommodate potential buyers or interested prospects in the location.
The property site is situated along the U.S. Highway 90/I-49 Connector, which could enable it to become a significant commercial hub. Additional development opportunities, such as multi-family townhouses, are also possible.
