YOUNGSVILLE, LA (March 13, 2025) – More than 150 Spanish II students at Acadiana Renaissance Charter High School will feed their brains and stomachs when the class visits a local Mexican restaurant for lunch and real-life lessons. La Hacienda, located at 3546 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, will provide a special menu, written only in Spanish, from which students can order. The field trip will span two days, March 13 and March 14, from 11 am to 1 pm, while students become completely immersed in the Spanish culture and language.
“Students learn words, conjugations, and phrases in the classroom, but when they can bring those lessons to the real world and practice actual interactions, we can realize our mission, which is a relentless commitment to student greatness in school and life,” said Spanish Teacher Alejandra Hargrave.
Students will interact only in Spanish throughout the entire field trip.
“We are grateful to collaborate with La Hacienda and our local Hispanic community to help elevate our students’ experience and knowledge by allowing them to practice their hard-earned skills in a real-life setting,” added Principal Lyndell Theriot. “This unique experience will stay with them for a long time.”
