Shannon Bares, a Youngsville native, is announcing that she will seek a position on the Youngsville City Council this fall. She is running for the vacated Division A seat.
Shannon is a co-owner of Farmers Drugs and Gifts with her husband of 33 years, David. They are the proud parents of 4 grown children.
She is the President of the Krewe des Amis Mardi Gras Krewe, Co-founder of The Youngsville Chamber of Commerce and is currently serving as an At-Large board member, Charter member of the Youngsville Historical Preservation Society, Secretary of the Youngsville Lions Club, a graduate of Leadership Youngsville Class 1 and a very active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Shannon was previously appointed by the council to fill the vacated seat of deceased council member Gary Williams and served well in that capacity until December 2022. Her experience as a community leader makes her uniquely qualified for this position.
