Community Members Gather as Art LeBreton Launches Campaign for Youngsville Police Chief

Youngsville, LA (May 11, 2026) – Community members gathered Thursday night in Youngsville as Art LeBreton officially launched his campaign for Youngsville Chief of Police during a public campaign event.

LeBreton, a former Chief Deputy and Enforcement Commander with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, brings more than 35 years of law enforcement experience to the race. During his career, he served in leadership roles overseeing patrol operations, criminal investigations, forensics, narcotics enforcement, community services, and critical incident management before retiring in 2018.

LeBreton first announced his candidacy in March, citing public safety, leadership, accountability, and community trust among the priorities of his campaign. Thursday’s event marked the beginning of the campaign’s public outreach efforts ahead of the upcoming election.
