LAFAYETTE, LA (December 5, 2024) – In observance of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day holidays, Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) announces the following changes to services on December 24 and December 25 of 2024, and January 1, 2025:
- Transit Services: On Christmas Eve (December 24), regular transit services will operate until 2:30 p.m., and the night owl transit service will operate from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All transit services will be suspended on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1).
- Garbage Collection: Garbage collection will not run on Christmas Day (December 25) or New Year’s Day (January 1). Both weeks, the Wednesday collection will take place on Thursday, the Thursday collection will take place on Friday, and the Friday collection will take place on Saturday. Residents can place extra bags next to their carts for pickup on collection days after both holidays.
- Dean Domingues Compost Facility: The compost facility, located at 400 Dugas Road, will close at 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve (December 24) and will remain closed on Christmas Day (December 25). The facility will also be closed on New Year’s Day (January 1).
- City-Parish Offices: All City-Parish offices will close at 12:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve (December 24) and remain closed on Christmas Day (December 25). City-Parish offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day (January 1).
