Our organization has experienced a tremendous loss today, with the passing of Benjamin Franklin Burley. Ben was instrumental in getting this organization started, expanding its reach, and working with other entities to take this idea to fruition.
Ben was the Treasurer for our organization from its inception over five years ago. He helped navigate with the City to secure the building for our museum, worked on historical research of families and prominent historical figures from Youngsville, and shared his love of Youngsville and its people to all who would listen.
This picture is of Ben talking with Leadership Youngsville members about our history, just recently. It is appropriate that he is next to a sign about Our Heros, as he is definitely a hero to us. We are all broken-hearted for T-Deb and his beautiful family, but know that Ben is in the hands of our loving Lord. He will leave a huge hole and we will miss him terribly, but we will continue the work he started to educate and share the history of his beloved Youngsville, in his honor.
Ben, may you rest in eternal peace and may perpetual light shine upon you.
