YOUNGSVILLE, LA (March 25, 2025) – From Wednesday, March 26, to Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Youngsville Fire Department will conduct flow testing on all the hydrants within the city limits of Youngsville.

This is extremely important for us for a couple of reasons:

  • To ensure all hydrants are functioning properly and unobstructed, allowing for effective use in emergencies requiring water.
  • The city is required to conduct preventative maintenance and flow testing each year to ensure that water flow rates are sufficient for the area. The rating company, which assesses our performance every four years and determines homeowners insurance rates, wants to ensure that this maintenance is performed annually.
  • Some discoloration may be noticed in the water on testing days.

Do not be alarmed; this is completely normal, and it is done every year.
