YOUNGSVILLE, LA (January 7, 2025) – The Youngsville Fire Department (YFD) received a call at 7:48 a.m. regarding a house fire near Ernest Gallet Elementary School.

YFD arrived on the scene at approximately 7:54 a.m. and controlled the fire within about ten minutes. It was completely out shortly afterward, according to Captain Lindy Bolgiano.

The investigator determined some electrical arching from an outdoor Christmas tree lighting started the fire.

There were no injuries. The homeowner had some pets inside, but they were rescued safely.

Ernest Gallet Elementary was not affected other than some minor traffic.

The Youngsville Professional Firefighter Association made a monetary donation to assist the family with any items that need immediate attention or a night’s stay in a hotel.
