The Youngsville Police Department reported on their Facebook page a Dollar General store was robbed by an armed gunman on Friday, September 9, 2022. The gunman stole from both the store and the customers.

From their Facebook page:

On Friday, September 9, 2022, at approximately 9:24 pm a black male entered the Dollar General wearing a camouflage hoodie, black pants, black mask, armed with a black revolver. The suspect entered the Dollar General and fired one round from his weapon and ordered all customers inside the store to get on the ground. The suspect then took items and cash from the customers. The suspect then ordered the store clerk to open the safe and remove all the cash from the safe as well as the cash register.

The suspect then exited the store and ran to a vehicle that was parked at the business located just south of the Dollar General. While the suspect was running to the vehicle, he pointed his weapon at an individual that was parked in the parking lot and fired one round at the individual parked in the Dollar General parking lot. The suspect then departed the parking lot traveling north on Louisiana Highway 89.

The suspect was followed by the witness that was parked in the parking lot, and a license plate was obtained.

The suspect was later located and arrested.

This case is still under investigation.
