Arrest made in Drive by Shooting Incident in Broussard

BROUSSARD, La. (Feb. 20, 2024) –  On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the Broussard Police Department was dispatched to a report of gunshots being fired at a residence in the 100 block of Caneview Drive.

Officers responded to the area and gathered information that indicated that shots were fired from a vehicle. No one was struck by the shots fired.

Detectives continued the investigation, where it is believed that the shooting stemmed from a previous fight between known individuals.  Detectives arrested Markius Carter, a black male nine-teen years of age, on the charge of Assault by a drive-by shooting. Carter was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
