Lafayette, LA – At around 5:39 p.m. on August 6, 2023, Officers with Lafayette Police Department responded to a call about a Domestic Disturbance involving a weapon.  Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victim, who advised that the suspect, Ikaika Lindon, 33, of Lafayette, Louisiana, came to his residence and began a verbal altercation with the victim.  As a result of that altercation, the suspect produced a handgun and struck the victim once with it. The suspect then barricaded himself alone inside the victim’s residence and refused to come out for officers.  The Lafayette Police Department’s SWAT team and negotiators were deployed.  At around 8:15 p.m., the suspect exited the residence and surrendered himself to officers without incident.

Mr. Lindon was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of felon possessing a firearm.
