LAFAYETTE, LA (September 7, 2024, 2:10 p.m.) – In regards to the homicide incident that occurred on August 31, 2024, at the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue, the second victim in the said incident has died. The second victim has been identified as Quincy Duhon Jr., 19, of Lafayette, Louisiana.
This incident remains under investigation, and any further findings shall be provided as they are gathered.

LAFAYETTE, LA (August 31, 2024, 8:00 p.m.) – The deceased victim from today’s shooting has been identified as Johnny Trailer Jr. (48) of Lafayette. The second victim is still listed in critical condition. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

LAFAYETTE, LA (August 31, 2024, 10:12 a.m.) – Around 9:18 a.m. this morning, the Lafayette Police Department received a 911 call regarding several shots being fired inside a nearby business located in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene and located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided life-saving medical aid until one victim was transported to an area hospital. The second victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene detectives are on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
