Lafayette, LA – The victim in this incident has been identified as a 64 years of age male, Wilson Marshall, of Lafayette, Louisiana. One suspect has been arrested in connection with this homicide. The suspect has been identified as a thirty-nine-year male, Jonathan Malbrough, of Lafayette, Louisiana. Jonathan Malbrough has been booked into the Lafayette Parish jail for one count of 2nd-degree murder.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that an altercation occurred inside a residence in the 300 block of East Simcoe Street. During the altercation, the suspect armed himself with a cutting instrument and attacked the victim. The Lafayette Police Department was called out to the location, arrived on the scene, and located the victim deceased inside the residence. Officers were able to locate the suspect and detain him. An investigation ensued, which ultimately led to the suspect’s arrest.

Lafayette, LA – On Monday, June 26th, 2023, at 08:42 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 300 block of East Simcoe Street regarding a stabbing in progress, upon arrival responding Officers located one victim inside a residence, with multiple apparent stab wounds to their person. The victim was determined to be deceased inside the residence. The residence was secured, and a crime scene was established. Investigators were called out to the residence and are actively following leads.
