Lafayette Man Facing More than a Dozen Drug-Related Charges

LAFAYETTE, LA (December 11, 2024) – A Lafayette man is facing more than a dozen drug-related charges following an investigation by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Agents.

Two search warrants were executed, one in the 3200 block of Kaliste Saloom Rd. and another in the 100 block of West Vermilion St., resulting in the discovery of various illegal narcotics.

James Beck, 38, was arrested Tuesday evening after narcotics agents located a stolen rifle, more than 20 pounds of Marijuana, nearly 50 pounds of THC products, approximately 68 ounces of Codeine and two additional firearms.

Beck was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for Possession of Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), Possession of Schedule II CDS, five counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute (PWITD) Schedule I CDS, PWITD Schedule II CDS, three counts of Possession of Firearm or Carrying Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies, Possession of Firearms by a Person Against Whom a Protective Order is Issued, three counts of Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms, Violation of Protective Orders and for Drug Paraphernalia.
