LAFAYETTE, LA (November 20, 2024) – On November 18, 2024, Officers with the Lafayette Police Narcotics Street Team conducted a traffic stop investigation in the 700 block of Hopkins Street. During that time, officers were able to secure a narcotics search warrant for a residence located in the same block of the traffic stop. As a result of the warrant search the following items were recovered:
Fentanyl / approximately 777 grams / DEA street value of $310,800
Methamphetamine / approximately 72 grams /DEA street value of $14,400
Marijuana / approximately 318 grams / DEA street value of $21,600
Synthetic Marijuana / approximately 1,080 grams / DEA street value of $21,600
Crack Cocaine / approximately 3 grams / DEA street value of $375
THC Vape Cartridges / 2 dosage units / DEA street value of $200

(1) Ruger .380 caliber handgun
(1) Ruger 9mm handgun
(1) Taurus 9mm handgun
$3,337 in U.S. Currency
One suspect, Donovan Duhon, 35 of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics, 3 counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Narcotics, 4 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, 4 counts of Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Domestic Abuse, Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Improper Display of License Plate, Driver must be licensed and a Bench Warrant.
The suspect was booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the above-mentioned charges. The Lafayette Police Department would like to remind the public that if you see something, say something.
