LPSO Arrest Broussard Couple on Drug and Weapons Charges

LAFAYETTE/BROUSSARD, LA (April 30, 2025) – A 39-year-old Broussard man and a 36-year-old Broussard woman are under arrest as part of an investigation that led to the discovery of a myriad of illegal narcotics, as well as a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency. 

Tuesday night, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Patrol Unit stopped a vehicle the man and woman were traveling in for a traffic violation in the 6800 block of Johnston Street in Lafayette. During the traffic stop, agents discovered narcotics and paraphernalia.

This resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the couple’s residence situated in the 100 block of Weeping Willow Boulevard in Broussard. This investigation yielded 1,298 grams of powdered cocaine, 8 grams of crack cocaine, 715 MDMA pills, 3.4 grams of MDMA powder, 1.5 grams of marijuana, two oxycodone pills, two hydrocodone pills, a firearm, a digital scale, and U.S. currency.

As a result of this extensive and thorough investigation, Brandon Green and Shalamekia Cormier were arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II (cocaine), 1 count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II (crack cocaine), 1 count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I (MDMA pills), 1 count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I (MDMA powder), 1 count of Possession of Schedule II (hydrocodone), 1 count of Possession of Schedule II (oxycodone), 1 count of Possession of Schedule I (marijuana), 2 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 1 count of Transactions involving proceeds from Drug Offenses, 1 count of Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of a juvenile.  

Green and Cormier were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the aforementioned charges. This case remains under investigation; no further information is available.
