At approximately 6:50 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a disturbance call involving suspects in Heymann Park armed with guns. 

Drugs Seized at Home on Loul Street in Broussard

According to KLFY TV10, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on Friday, May 5, 2023, and seized drugs at a home on Loul Street in Broussard.

UPDATE: Homicide on E Simcoe Street

Around 6:07 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to a shooting in progress in the 2500 block of E. Simcoe Street.

Homicide Investigation near West Congress and University Avenue

Just before 3:00 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to reports of “shots being fired” near the intersection of West Congress and University Avenue.

One Homicide, One Injured Over Shots

The victim from this morning’s homicide has been identified as Raylon Mason 22, of St. Martinville, LA.

Lafayette Police are on the scene of a major vehicle crash. The crash occurred around 11:03 a.m., in the 3200 block of Moss Street. There is one confirmed fatality at this time.
