LAFAYETTE, LA (May 14, 2024, 7:13 p.m.) – Regarding the shooting incident at the 1300 block of North East Evangeline Thruway, the Lafayette Police Department Investigators have made an arrest. Investigators identified the suspect as Tresmond Jones, 29, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and an arrest warrant was obtained for Jones by LPD Investigators. Jones was located shortly afterward and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the charge of one count of attempted 2nd-degree murder.

LAFAYETTE, LA (May 14, 2024) – On May 14, 2024, at 1:39 p.m., Officers with the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 1300 block of North East Evangeline Thruway about a shooting in progress. Upon arrival, officers located the victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives with LPD are actively investigating this incident. An update will be disseminated once additional information is obtained.
