Lafayette, LA (Mar. 7, 2025) – Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Traffic, Roads, and Bridges Department announces the upcoming closure of the bridge on Beau Pre Road, located approximately 0.60 miles northeast of West Pinhook Road, for a complete replacement. The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 10, 2025, and is expected to last for approximately 10 months.
The project involves removing the existing three-span concrete bridge with timber piles and building a new three-span cast-in-place concrete bridge with concrete piles. The replacement is necessary due to deteriorating timber piles and severe erosion at the bridge abutments.
Detour routes will be posted during the closure, and local access will be maintained.
- Businesses south of the bridge will remain accessible from West Pinhook Road.
- Businesses north of the bridge can be accessed via South West Frontage Road.
