LAFAYETTE, LA (October 21, 2024) – The Northeast Library Committee will hold an Open House for the public to share their opinions on what they would like to see in the new regional library coming to the northeast of the parish.
The open house will be held on Wednesday, November 6, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the gymnasium of the Dupuis Recreation Center, 1212 E Pont Des Mouton Road, Lafayette.
Library staff and representatives from 720 Design, the design consultant for the Northeast Regional Library Project, will be at the open house to discuss the project and to answer questions from the public.
The open house is part of the Northeast Library Committee’s effort to get input from the community that will be used to shape the design of the new library. The committee is also conducting a community survey, which will be open until November 30 and can be found at https://lafayettepubliclibrary.libwizard.com/f/nerl1.
The northeast regional branch will be constructed on a six-acre property located east of Evangeline Thruway and south of I-10, at the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and the 100 block of Shadow Bluff Drive.
