Youngsville, LA (April 12, 2026) – The Youngsville Police Department earned bragging rights over the Broussard Police Department during a friendly cookoff competition held as part of the third annual BYOB, “Bringing You Our Best,” Hamburger and Hot Dog Festival in Youngsville.

The win marks a shift in the friendly rivalry between the two departments, as the Broussard Police Department took top honors in last year’s competition. With this year’s victory, the Youngsville Police Department claimed the title and the belt.

While the festival featured a variety of local vendors participating in the larger cookoff, the competition between the two police departments served as a separate highlight of the event.

Both departments showcased their cooking skills and community spirit, giving attendees an opportunity to enjoy the competition in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

The cookoff reflected the strong relationship between the departments and the communities they serve, with the lighthearted rivalry adding to the overall atmosphere of the festival.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Broussard Police Department and the Youngsville Police Department.
