Qualifying will be held August 8-10, 2023, for candidates running in the Gubernatorial Election. The election will be held on October 14, 2023.
The Gubernatorial election includes seats for state-wide, parish, and local offices.
Candidates are required to qualify to run for the elected seat they are seeking.
Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court, Louis J. Perret, provides the following dates and times for candidates who reside in Lafayette Parish who wish to qualify for eligibility to run for office to go to the Parish Courthouse for qualifying.
- Tuesday, August 8, 2023 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 9, 2023 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday, August 10, 2023 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. deadline
