According to Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter through his Facebook page, the Youngsville Sports Complex has been awarded a 2022 Champions of Economic Impact award from Sports Destination Management Magazine for the Mardi Gras Mambo Tournament. Ritter advises the event created 2,724 room nights with an economic impact of $1.9 million in 2022.
Ritter credits all who are involved including the residents of Youngsville, Lafayette Travel, Youngsville’s recreation team led by Tim Robichaux, marketing by ADWORX, and tournament host Coach Fremin with Southeastern University. This year’s Mardi Gras Mambo is set for this weekend Feb 17-19 where 10 Division 1 NCAA softball teams from 7 states will be in Youngsville.
