BROUSSARD, LA (April 5, 2025) – The Cajun FOOLS, a firefighters’ organization, hosted a special relay competition to benefit Fire Captain Erik Mannting, who was injured in a fire on January 1, 2025. Proceeds from the event will go directly to Captain Mannting to help cover his medical bills, rehabilitation, and recovery.
Firefighters from Broussard, Youngsville, Lafayette, and other areas came together to show their support for Mannting by competing in the event.
The event featured food and music at the Apex Training Gym on Young Street in Broussard. Jace Lopez, the owner of Apex, kindly provided the venue.
