Today in Youngsville, the enticing aroma of gumbo and chili filled the air. A gumbo-chili cookoff was held today at the Youngsville Sports Complex, with proceeds benefiting the Broussard-Larriviere-Trahan Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9210 Youngsville, Louisiana.

Area vendors pulled out the gumbo and chili pots, gumbo paddles, and rice cookers to prepare their special gumbo and chili to serve to the cook-off attendees, hoping their gumbo or chili would be chosen as the best gumbo or chili.
