The City of Youngsville held an official ribbon-cutting this morning for the Youngsville Sports Complex Expansion (YSCE). The expansion includes an amphitheater, collegiate baseball fields, pickleball courts, cornhole courts, an inclusive playground, and concessions. The expansion is located at Detente Road and Railroad Street.
Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter recognized contractors, engineers, architects, and founding sponsors for the YSCE project.
Members of the Ragin’ Cajuns Baseball were on hand to lend helping hands at the Sports for All baseball game. From the Sports for All web page: “Sports For All is an all-inclusive sports program with a philosophy of inclusion for the whole child, whole environment, and whole community.”
Other events were held today at the YSCE: a ribbon cutting for the Lions Club Inclusive Playset and the Rotary Club of Youngsville’s 4th Annual Patch at the Park.
The inclusive playset is an initiative of the Youngsville Lions Club and was designed to create a safe and enjoyable environment for children, both with and without disabilities, to play together. This aims to promote all children’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Patch at the Park (formerly known as Patch at the Pond) featured live music, pumpkins for the kids, over 60 craft and food vendors, music, and fall photo opportunities. All funds raised will benefit service projects, scholarship programs, and grant programs in the community.
