In the earlier morning hours of March 12, 2023, Lafayette Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Verdun Street, regarding a trespassing call.

Commercial Fire at 1734 North University Avenue

Lafayette firefighter were called out to a commercial fire at 1734 N. University Avenue, Shah’s Kwik Stop, gas station at 11:15 this morning.

Mobile Home Fire – 131 Hebert Road

At 11:08 this morning, Lafayette firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 131 Hebert Road.

UPDATE: LPD Investigating Allegation of Child Abuse

On March 7, 2023, The Lafayette Police Department received a complaint in reference to a suspicious injury to a juvenile, which is alleged to have occurred while in the care of a babysitter.

Arrest of Ohio Man After S.W.A.T Call Out

Lafayette Police Department received information from Columbus Police Department in reference to a suspect, Christopher Moore, W/M/48, wanted for attempted murder possibly in the Lafayette area. 

Pathway Church Vehicle Crash

On February 11, 2023 at 1:33 am officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Ambassador Caffery in reference to a vehicle striking the “Pathway Church”.

Around 12:57 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to a shooting in progress in the 200 block of Verdun Street.

Around 1:50 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to a shooting in progress in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue.

Fire Causes Substantial Damage to St. Francis Motel

At 11:13 a.m. this morning, Lafayette firefighters responded to a commercial fire at 1604 N. University Avenue, St. Francis Motel.

Police Investigate Shooting Involving a Juvenile

At around 9:43 pm, Lafayette Police responded to shooting in progress in the 1600 block of E. Simcoe Street.
