LPD Arrest Parents in Reference to Juveline Cruelty

On March 09, 2023, the Lafayette Police Department was contacted by a local hospital in reference to a 5-year-old male victim suffering from second degree burns on his hand as well as bruising to his face and upper body.

LPD Make Arrest For Kidnapping and Attempted Rape Charges

On March 15, 2023, at 4:41 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 1100 block of E. Vermillion Street in reference to a report of a kidnapping and attempted rape of a juvenile victim.

Multi-Vehicle Crash With Injuries on Johnston Street

Lafayette Police are currently on the scene of a multi vehicle crash involving injuries on the 6600 block of Johnston Street, northbound headed into the city of Lafayette.

Fatal House Fire: 115 South Refinery Street

At 12:40 a.m. this morning, Lafayette firefighter responded to a house fire in the 100 block of South Refinery Street. When firefighters arrived on scene, first responders searched the burning home and discovered a 70-year-old female near the rear door.

UPDATE: Traffic Fatality on Pinhook

Lafayette Police are on the scene of a major vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. The crash occurred just after 9:00 p.m., on the 2300 block of West Pinhook Road.

Walk-Ons Disturbance

On Saturday, March 11, 2023 at approximately 6:20 PM the Broussard Police Department responded to the report of a large disturbance involving weapons at the Walk-On’s located on Celebrity Dr.

In the earlier morning hours of March 12, 2023, Lafayette Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Verdun Street, regarding a trespassing call.

Lafayette firefighter were called out to a commercial fire at 1734 N. University Avenue, Shah’s Kwik Stop, gas station at 11:15 this morning.

Mobile Home Fire – 131 Hebert Road

At 11:08 this morning, Lafayette firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 131 Hebert Road.

UPDATE: LPD Investigating Allegation of Child Abuse

On March 7, 2023, The Lafayette Police Department received a complaint in reference to a suspicious injury to a juvenile, which is alleged to have occurred while in the care of a babysitter.
