LAFAYETTE, LA – A third arrest has been made in connection to the drive-by shooting on Bloomfield Drive on Monday afternoon.
Markayvian Brown, 19, was arrested after investigators identified Brown as a suspect in a second vehicle involved in the shooting earlier this week. During the shooting, investigators learned a home and a horse at a nearby property were struck by the gunfire. Brown was also found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.
Brown is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder (2 counts), Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property (2 counts), Aggravated Cruelty to an Animal, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
In addition to Brown, two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Jamilian Paddio and 21-year-old Nelson Wiltz, were placed under arrest on Monday following the shooting.
Throughout the investigation, Paddio and Wiltz were found to be in possession of multiple firearms and illegal narcotics. Three handguns, including modified weapons with fully-automatic capabilities, and more than 250 grams of Marijuana and nearly $1,000 in U.S. currency were seized from the scene.
Paddio and Wiltz are charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Handling of Machine Guns. Wiltz is also charged with Violation of a Protection Order.
This case remains under investigation.

LAFAYETTE, LA – The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened on the afternoon of September 11, 2023, near Gloria Switch Road. At approximately 1:45 p.m., deputies responded to calls indicating shots were fired in the 100 block of Bloomfield Drive.
Upon arrival, it was learned the suspect vehicle had left the area. Real Time Crime Center Agents assisted in locating the vehicle in the 600 block of Brothers Road, though one suspect had fled the vehicle.
Deputies established a perimeter and were able to locate and apprehend two suspects, identified as nineteen-year-old Jamilian Paddio and twenty-one-year-old Nelson Wiltz.
Throughout the course of the investigation, multiple firearms and illegal narcotics were discovered. Three handguns, including modified weapons with fully automatic capabilities, and more than two-hundred fifty grams of marijuana as well as nearly $1,000 in United States currency were seized from the scene.
Both Paddio and Wiltz are charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Handling of Machine Guns. Wiltz is also charged with Violation of a Protection Order.
This case remains under investigation.
