Lafayette, LA – In regards to the juvenile that escaped Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center on Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was located yesterday evening, May 23, 2023, by Sulphur Police Department. The juvenile received an additional charge of Simple Escape and he will be transported back to Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center.

Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Police Department are on the scene at 1613 Surrey Street (Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center). Just after 3:30 p.m., a male juvenile escaped from the detention center after climbing a fence. Lafayette Police Officers with assistance from Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office are actively searching the area for the escaped juvenile. The juvenile is a white male approximately 5’5, 130 lbs with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and orange shorts.
