(Correction) Man in Custody Regarding Domestic Abuse

Youngsville, LA (correction) – One man is in custody following an investigation by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Meadow Glen Drive on Saturday, October 28, 2023, about a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, one suspect was located inside a residence. The suspect, fifty-two-year-old Michael Carpenter, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Carpenter is charged with Domestic Abuse, Sexual Battery, False Imprisonment, and Cruelty to the Infirmed. One victim, who was not present in the residence at the time of the arrest, is being treated for injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
