On January 1st, 2024, at 3:29 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 100 block of Ancelet Street in Lafayette, Louisiana, regarding a shooting incident in progress.

On January 1, 2024, around 3:30 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr Drive.

At 11:08 a.m. this morning, Lafayette firefighters responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Scenic Drive.

At around 1:10 a.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 500 block of Jefferson Street about shots being fired.

Today at 5:10 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 100 block of Ancelet Street about a shooting incident in progress. Upon arrival, one male victim was located in the area, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his person.

Lafayette firefighters responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Radcliffe Drive around 3:41 p.m.

The Lafayette Fire Department reminds citizens that it is illegal to set off fireworks in the City of Lafayette, but fireworks are legal in unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish.
