YOUNGSVILLE, LA (December 19, 2024) – A large crowd gathered today to witness Jean Paul “JP” Broussard taking his oath of office as Youngsville Police Chief. Broussard was joined by his wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Addisyn, for the ceremony.
Youngsville Police Chaplain Josh Leblanc led in prayer before Judge Roger P Hamilton Jr. of the 16th Judicial District Court administered the oath of office to Broussard.
Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter and council members Shannon Bares, Matt Romer, and Simone Champagne attended the event.
Officials that were in attendance included Lafayette Parish Sheriff Mark Garber, Broussard Chief of Police Vance Oliver and Assistant Chief of Police Tony Ashy, Broussard’s Alderman at Large Jeff Delahoussaye and Council Member Jesse Regan, Lafayette Parish District 9 School Board Member Jeremy Hidalgo, Duson Chief of Police Kip Judice, and Louisiana State Senator District 23 Jean-Paul Cousson.
