UPDATE: Homicide Investigation in the 100 block of Ancelet Street

Today at 5:10 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) responded to the 100 block of Ancelet Street about a shooting incident in progress. Upon arrival, one male victim was located in the area, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his person.

Youngsville Vehicle Burglary Suspects

Cody Louviere, Police Chief of Youngsville, advised that in the past month his officers have made three separate arrests of vehicle burglary suspects.

VICTIM IDENTIFIED: Fatal Traffic Crash 2800 block of Johnston Street

Today, December 26, 2023, at 12:23 p.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Johnston Street regarding a traffic crash.

On the evening of December 19, 2023, at approximately 7:15 P.M., a Lafayette Police Officer was patrolling in the 100 block Happiness Street, when a female complainant contacted the officer.

Lafayette Police are currently on the scene and investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a bicyclist on the 3000 block I-49 NE Frontage Road.

UPDATE: Major Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian on I-49

Lafayette Police are on the scene of a major vehicle crash involving a pedestrian I-49 Northbound just north of the I-10 overpass.

UPDATE: Homicide on Sampson Avenue

On December 9, 2023, at 11:01 p.m., The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 300 block of Sampson Avenue about a shooting incident.

UPDATE: Disturbance on Harrington Drive

At approximately 2:17 p.m., officers responded to a fight/disturbance call involving weapons on the 300 block of Harrington Drive. 

Broussard Officers Investigate Fatal Crash on East Fairfield

On December 7, 2023, at approximately 5:50 a.m., officers with the Broussard Police Department responded to the 500 block of East Fairfield Drive for a major crash involving two vehicles.

Youngsville Burglary Suspect

Youngsville Police Chief Cody Louviere reports there was heavy law enforcement presence in the Fairfax subdivision and Guilliot / Nicole Drive area within the last two hours due to a possible burglary suspect who fled on foot from officers of the Youngsville Police Department.
